Dharwad: A mail written to Prime Minister Modi by a Dharwad man has evoked a response from the Prime Minister's Office thus ushering a ray of hope for the villagers of Tegur who do not have access to a government hospital in the vicinity. In the mail, Rudrappa Gonigeera drew attention towards the plight of the people from his village and that of the adjoining 12 villages who have to travel up to Dharwad town or Belagavi since they do not have a government hospital nearby despite the repeated requests put forth by the villagers since many years. Acting on the directions received from the PMO, the Dharwad Health Department officials visited and reviewed the village. The Teguru Gram Panchayat has also offered land for the hospital on the outskirts of the village. Source: News Karnataka
