Bhatkal - In a fresh incident, forest department bulldozers razed down one more under-construction house belonging to a poor woman. This demolition was believed to be a part of forest department's drive against people who have built their houses on Atikaram land. According to the sources, the woman was residing in a small hut but due to continuous downpour for the last few days, her house was damaged and she decided to construct new house but the forest officials suddenly appeared with bulldozers and demolished the house without any notice. Meanwhile, the Atikaram Horata Samiti President Mr Rama Moger and representatives of other organizations visited the place and condemned the barbaric act of forest department. Mr Moger has also warned to hold a massive protest if the demolition drive continues against poor people. According to the house owner Masti Naik, she was staying there with her children from the past 25 years and paying house taxes regularly to Jali Panchayath.
