Customs official held for taking bribe at Bengaluru airport

BENGALURU: The CBI late on Tuesday arrested customs superintendant S H Lingaraju at the Kempegowda International Airport on the city's outskirts for demanding and accepting Rs 2.5 lakh as bribe from a complainant, an official said on Wednesday. "The accused was nabbed at the airport under relevant sections of t he Prevention of Corruption Act for asking bribe to clear a cargo of silk scarf from Malaysia," a CBI spokesperson said. A local court granted remanded the accused to three-day police custody. -TOI
