Crocodile sighted in Bhatkal river, residents urged to stay cautious

Bhatkal: A crocodile was spotted in the Bheem River near Kadavinakatta in Kandekodlu village of Bhatkal taluk, raising concerns among people living close to the river.
A local resident reportedly noticed the crocodile resting on the riverbank and captured a photograph of it on his mobile phone. The sighting has drawn attention as crocodiles have reportedly been spotted in several rivers in Bhatkal and other parts of Uttara Kannada district in recent days.
The number of crocodile sightings has also increased in the Kali River in Dandeli, prompting residents living along the river to take precautions and remain alert to the possibility of crocodiles moving across the river.
With the crocodile now spotted in the Bheem River in Bhatkal, residents living along rivers in the region have been advised to exercise caution, particularly during the rainy season.
Crocodile sightings are reported in rivers such as the Kali, Gangavalli, Aghanashini and Bheem, making it important for people living near these water bodies to remain vigilant.
