Court acquits all the seven accused in the 2006 murder case

Bhatkal - District Sessions and 2nd Fast Track Court Karwar has aquitted all the seven accused who have been arrested by the Bhatkal Police in 2006 murder case. It may be recalled that, in the year 2006, Jatka idols were disappeared from disputed site located near Bunder road, Magdoom colony. Due to which situation in the town became volatile and a flower merchant, Sudheer Erappa Naik was murdered near old bus stand allegedly by the mob. The Bhatkal police has arrested 7 youths including Mushtaque Ahmed Mashaikh (Brother of Dr. Mohammed Haneef Shabab) as a prime suspect. The others were Abu Faisal, Faqui Ismail, Mukhtar, Sa'adat, Israr Jamsher and Siddique.
According to one of the acquitted, the police was trying hard with the help of false eye-witnesses to falsely implicate us but timely intervention of Advocate Arshad Ahmed Balur, we have managed to get anticipatory bail and the case was transferred to Karwar Fast Track court where we finally got acquitted. He also said that apart from Mr. Balur, the other advocates who played a key role in our acquittal are Advocate Belli Ennavar, Advocate Vinod, Advocate Qazi and Advocate Shirurkar.
Bhatkal's organizations and important personalities have also played an important role in securing the release of all the accused.
