JEDDAH: A team from the Civil Defense in Makkah rescued a three-year-old girl from a water tank in Al-Faisaliyah district on Tuesday. Col. Said Sarhan, spokesman of the body, said the child was taken by the Red Crescent to a local hospital. An investigation is under way but no foul play is suspected at this stage, he said. Sarhan said it appeared that the child fell into the tank because its opening was not properly secured. The control center of the Civil Defense received information about the incident at 14:45 p.m., and promptly dispatched rescue teams. The child was found alive and given first aid by paramedics on the scene. The Jeddah secretariat has also launched a probe into the incident.
