Can Bhatkal solve the problem of road accidents?

Bhatkal, June 01, 2016: Rabita Society Bhatkal in association with Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem Bhatkal and other social organizations of Bhatkal will host two key community-driven initiatives over the next few months. The  ‘Clean Bhatkal’ and ‘Road Safety’ project will mark the first-ever effort to inspire a community-driven activities at the grass root level. "We have worked very hard over the last two months to develop a detailed action plan to address these two major issues - road safety and cleanliness. It is our duty to embrace this in good spirit and leave a lasting impression as a united community which believes in spreading happiness and well being," said Mohiddin Ruknuddin He also highlighted Rabita's ongoing discussions with various government entities and civic bodies, including Bhatkal Town Municipal Corporation, police department officials and other key bodies. Road accidents have remained at an all-time high and road fatalities have reared their head time and again. rabita-press-confrence-02-600x400 The joint initiatives were announced at a press briefing hosted aat the Rabita Conference Hall in Bhatkal. Addressing journalists, Mohiddin said, "As of now, dates for the project’s commencement have not been decided and events will be planned in consultation with local bodies to ensure the project's success." The project is aimed at making Bhatkal a ‘Model City’ and sports clubs and other organisation's are encouraged to come together and work on the planned activities.
