Brisk voter turnout in Bhatkal

Bhatkal - A brisk voter turnout was recorded in different polling stations across Bhatkal and early figures of total voter turn-out have been promising. Estimates provided at 11:00 AM confirmed a voter turn out of 40 per cent and the number is expected to increase by the end of voting at 6:00 PM today. A report on livemint.com noted, "After an initial burst, voter turnout in the Karnataka assembly polls lost momentum in the afternoon apparently due to the searing heat, with an estimated 25-30% voters exercising their franchise till 1 pm."
