Bhatkal, November 7: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation (BMYF), in association with the Payam-e-Insaniyat Bhatkal Unit, organised a series of awareness programmes at various educational institutions in Bhatkal on Saturday, focusing on drug addiction, responsible use of technology and the importance of humanitarian values.

The programmes were held at Anjuman Arts, Science and Commerce College, Ali Public School and PU College, and New Shams English Medium School and PU College.

At Anjuman College, the programme was organised in collaboration with the institution's Red Cross and National Service Scheme (NSS) units at the college auditorium.

Addressing the students, Khan Huzaif, a Maharashtra-based member of All India Payam-e-Insaniyat, expressed concern over the growing prevalence of drug addiction among youngsters and their increasing dependence on mobile phones and social media. He stressed that individuals struggling with addiction should not be judged or criticised but treated with compassion and guided towards proper counselling, medical treatment and rehabilitation.

He also urged students to exercise control over their screen time and make constructive use of technology rather than allowing it to affect their studies and daily lives.

Speaking on the occasion, Maulana Junaid Sahib highlighted the importance of humanity, mutual respect, love and social responsibility. He explained how simple gestures, such as smiling and greeting others, could strengthen relationships and promote goodwill in society. He encouraged students to look beyond personal achievements and contribute towards the welfare of others.

Both speakers emphasised that the younger generation has a significant role to play in bringing positive changes to society and building a healthier, more responsible and compassionate community.

At Anjuman College, Principal Yusuf Kola welcomed the gathering, while BMYF General Secretary Mubasshir Hallare proposed the vote of thanks. NSS Coordinator Prof. Damodar Naik, Shams School's Qutub Barnwar, Ziya Ruknuddin, M. R. Manvi, Ali Public School's Abdullah Shuraih Nadvi, Ahmed Baida Nadvi and others were present.

Meanwhile, as part of the ongoing awareness campaign, a six-member delegation from the Payam-e-Insaniyat Aurangabad Unit is scheduled to address the youth of Bhatkal tonight at the Madeena Welfare Society.

The initiative aims to sensitise students and young people about the harmful consequences of drug addiction, the need for responsible technology use, the importance of humanitarian values and their responsibility towards society.

The campaign conveys a strong message to the younger generation: Say No to Drugs, Use Technology Responsibly and Dedicate Yourself to Humanitarian Service.
