Bhatkal votes peacefully

5th May 2013 / Rizwan Gangavaly / Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: Polling was largely peaceful in the Bhatkal-Honavar Assembly constituency with an approximate voter turnout of 70%. Polling which began at 7 am in the morning and continued till 6pm in the evening went on peacefully except at one or two places where incidents of clashes between party workers were reported but police officials intervened and settled the matter. A good news for the Muslims in Bhatkal is that there was a high percentage of voting recorded in Muslim dominated areas. In every locality, youths actively participated because of which maximum number of people came out and casted their votes. Hence, it is expected that the outcome of this will be rewarding.
