Bhatkal: Tanzeem President Inayathullah Shabandri joins Congress

Bhatkal : 3 April 2024 (Bhatkalys News Bureau) The President of Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem Bhatkal and prominent JD(S) leader, Inayathullah Shabandri, officially joined the Congress party during an event attended by Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Chief DK Shivakumar and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday.

Shabandri's decision to switch allegiance to the Congress comes in the wake of his distancing from the JD(S) following its alliance with the BJP for the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections. Shabandri had refrained from issuing an official statement regarding his stance on the matter.

The decision drew attention on social media, where several users raised objections and sought clarification from Shabandri regarding his position on his party's alliance with the BJP. The pressure intensified due to Shabandri's leadership role in the socio-religious organization of Bhatkal, Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem.
