Bhatkal records 55% polling

Bhatkal - Bhatkal recorded 55% polling in Taluka & Zilla Panchayat elections after the polling was ended yesterday. The election was by and large peaceful except minor incidents at one or two places. According to the sources Kuntwani recorded highest polling with 84% while the Murdeshwar's Navayat Mohalla recorded lowest polling percentage with 25%. Elaborate security arrangements were put in place for the smooth conduct of elections.
