Bhatkal Premier League continues into third week

bpl_2013_week3_18 Dubai - The third week of Danube Bhatkal Premier League saw four matches being played out on Friday at the Fair Ovals Ground in Dubai International Academic City. Champs, Sailors, Chargers and Challengers registered a win in their matches. The first match of the day was played between Marhaba Champs and Amtek Tigers. Batting first after winning the toss, Amtek Tigers scored 181 in their allotted 20 overs. Abdul Wahid starred with a knock of 56, supported by opener Imran Lanka who piled on 31 runs. Marhaba Champs got off to a solid start with openers Mubasshir and Fairoz sharing a 66-run partnership for the opening wicket. Anas Mulla starred with a captain's knock of 81 runs from 33 balls as the team scored its first win of the tournament in the group stages. Concord Sailors and SahilOnline riders locked horns in the second match of the day. Batting first, the sailors raked 171 in their allotted 20 overs. Aijaz Kharori (48) and Syed Hussain (40) top scored for the team. In reply, the riders got off to a strong start with a blazing knock by Zia Qazi. The opener lost his wicket one run short of his century and that proved to be a turning point for the Sailors. Basith and Ismail shared four wickets as the bowling attack lead the Sailors to a 14-run victory.  Zia Qazi was judged man of the match for his spectacular knock of 99 with 8 sixes. The third match was played between Daffni Chargers and PMG Strickers. Daffni Chargers won the match by 30 Runs. Batting first, the chargers scored 127 in 20 overs. In reply, the strikers were all out for 97. Naveed Sawda was adjudged man of the match Chilly Willy Challengers faced Taha Warriors in the day's last match. Batting first, the challengers were all out for 121. Nabeel Karikal top scored with 32 runs. In reply, the warriors were all out for a measly 43 runs as no player from the team reached double-digits.
