Bhatkal Police issue traffic diversion plan amid NH-66 construction work

Bhatkal, May 17: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Bhatkal Town Police Station has announced temporary traffic diversions within the town in view of the ongoing National Highway-66 widening work and has urged motorists to use alternative routes to avoid congestion.
In a press release dated May 16, Police Inspector of Bhatkal Town Police said the route changes have been introduced to ensure smooth movement of vehicles and enhance public safety during the highway construction.
According to the revised traffic plan, vehicles travelling from S Circle and Bandar Road towards the Lower Market area will be diverted through Bandar Road, Eidgah Maidan, Sonar Kere Cross and the road in front of the police station.
Vehicles coming from Marikatta and the Old Bus Stand towards S Circle will be required to take the route via the road in front of the police station, Sonar Kere Cross, Eidgah Maidan and Bandar Road.
Motorists heading towards Jali, Jalikodi and Jali Beach have been directed to use Bandar Road Second Cross.
The police have also issued a special advisory requesting residents and motorists within Bhatkal town to avoid using NH-66 except in emergencies or when absolutely necessary until the highway work is completed.
The department has appealed to the public to cooperate with the traffic arrangements to ensure smooth vehicular movement and maintain safety during the construction period.
