Bhatkal police assures action against those who abandon their aged parents

Bhatkal 5 February 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Bhatkal police department on Monday, organized a drive to protect the interest of senior citizens and to assure them any possible help anytime by the police department. The meeting was organized here at Muttali gram Panchayath of Bhatkal on Monday.
Bhatkal town police PSI Kusumadhara while addressing the meeting said, “As children grow-up they abandon their parents or don’t take care of them properly. Strict actions against such individuals can be enforced in accordance with the law”.
He further said, “Please let us know, if something of this kind is happening with you or the people you know, the department will immediately see into the matter. Anyone causing any inconvenience to you people can be filed case against”.
Attendees of the meeting were also let to share their problems and grievances at the meeting.
An aged man attending the meeting informed the cops that, his son who had been to Bengaluru a year back in search of a job in hotel, never returned back and is missing. Kusumadhara assured the senior man of looking into the matter.
Other people also shared their problems with the police personnel during the meeting.
The police department ensured the local senior citizen of taking effective measures for their problems and also assured of organizing similar meetings every month to protect the interest of the aged people.
Mutalli Panchayat PDO Rajeshwari Chandawar, Executive officer Chikkanamane, Panchayat member Manjunath Naik, Town police staff including Eranna Poojari, Siddu Kamble, Yashwant Naik and several people aged above 60 years were present in the meeting.
