Bhatkal Fitra committee distributes one lakh two thousand KGs of rice on occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr

Bhatkal: 17 April 2024 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The Central Fitra Committee in Bhatkal, successfully collected over 102,000 kilograms of rice this year, marking another milestone in their longstanding tradition of distributing Fitra during Eid-ul-Fitr. Moulana Ilyas Jakti presented a report during the committee's review meeting at Masjid Huda.

The distribution effort was spread in 57 circles across Bhatkal, Honnavar, Kumta, Shirur, and neighboring areas. A total of 2,009 families from Shirur, Bhatkal, Honavar, and Kumta received distributions, with an average of 50 kilograms per family and up to 1 quintal for larger families in need. Additionally, this year saw the inclusion of basmati rice in the distribution, extending to areas beyond Bhatkal like Gersoppa, Hirangadi, Saralgi Honnavar, and Manki Nakhuda Mohalla.

Continuing their tradition, the committee conducted surveys and held advisory meetings during Ramadan to ensure the efficient collection and distribution of Fitra. The collective effort, which has persisted for 39 years, continues to grow annually with the support of Bhatkal communities in the Gulf, local youth, sports centers, scholars, and various organizations.

To further strengthen their work, a post-Eid meeting was held with members of the Fitra Committee, organized by the Azadnagar Friends Association (ANFA), followed by Zuhr prayer. Notable figures such as Syed Pervaiz, Deputy Convener of the Central Fitra Committee, and Shabandri Muhammad Shafi, President of Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen, along with Maulana Maqbool Ahmad Kobatte Nadvi, Atiqur Rahman Muniri, Maulana Abdul Raqeeb MJ Nadvi, Qamar Saada Sahib, Imran Khatib, and Maulana Younis Sahib Burmawar Nadvi graced the occasion and provided valuable insights and suggestions for the expansion and sustainability of the initiative.

Key figures including Naib Qazi Jamaat Muslimeen Bhatkal Maulana Mufti Abdul Noor Nadvi, President of Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation Azizur Rahman Nadvi, and Maulana Anees Madani were also present during the event.
