Bhatkal: Dengue Awareness program held at Anjuman Arts Science Commerce College and PG Centre

Bhatkal: 20, October 2023 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Anjuman Arts Science Commerce College and PG Centre organized a Dengue Awareness Program on October 19, 2023, focusing on educating the college community about Dengue fever prevention and management. The event, held at the college function hall, saw participation from around 150 students.

The program was graced by two guests of honour, Dr. Savita Kamath, Chief Health Officer at Taluka Hospital, Bhatkal, and Neel Mestha, Chief Officer at the Town Municipal Corporation. Professor Ganim, the Student Welfare Officer, extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guests and introduced them to the audience.

Dr. Savita Kamath delivered an address, offering detailed information on Dengue fever, including its causes and various stages. She emphasized the importance of early diagnosis and timely medical intervention. Mr. Neel Mestha emphasized the role of responsible citizenship in Dengue prevention, stressing the significance of cleanliness and community involvement.

The program included an interactive Q&A session, allowing students to engage with the guest speakers, seek clarification, and deepen their understanding of Dengue-related issues.

The event concluded with a presidential address by the college's Principal, Professor Mushtaque K. Shaikh, who praised the efforts of the Student Welfare Wing in organizing the crucial awareness program. As a token of appreciation, mementos were presented to Dr. Savita Kamath and Mr. Neel Mestha by the Principal. Dr. R.S. Nayak, Head of the Kannada Department, expressed gratitude on behalf of the college community in his vote of thanks, acknowledging the valuable information shared during the event and the Town Municipal Corporation's commitment to distributing pamphlets on Dengue prevention.
