Bhatkal Court imposes Rs 25,000 fine on vehicle owner for allowing minor to ride two-wheeler

Bhatkal: In a serious traffic rules violation case, a local court has imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on a vehicle owner for allegedly allowing a minor to ride a two-wheeler.
According to police, Rajesh Nagappa Naik, a resident of Bastikaikini, had permitted a boy below legal driving age to operate the vehicle. Police said this amounted to a clear violation of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Based on the findings of the investigation, Murdeshwar Police Station PSI Hanumanth Biradar registered a case under Sections 5 and 199(A) of the Motor Vehicles Act.
After the chargesheet was filed, the court heard the matter and found the vehicle owner guilty. The court then imposed a penalty of Rs 25,000.
Officials urged the public to strictly follow traffic regulations and warned that allowing minors to drive poses a serious threat to public safety.
