Bhatkal Court imposes Rs 25,000 fine on vehicle owner for allowing minor to ride two-wheeler

Bhatkal: A court in Bhatkal has imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on a vehicle owner for permitting a minor to ride a two-wheeler.

 

The case was registered by Murdeshwar police against Seema Akhtar Shaikh Mohiuddin Shirur, a resident of National Colony within Murdeshwar police station limits, for allegedly allowing an underage boy to operate her two-wheeler.

 

Following investigation, the police filed a chargesheet against the vehicle owner under Sections 5 and 199(A) of the Motor Vehicles Act.

 

After hearing the matter, the Senior Civil Court in Bhatkal held the vehicle owner responsible and ordered payment of a penalty of Rs 25,000 on June 2.
