A Bangalore court on Thursday issued an arrest warrant against Karthik Gowda, son of Railway Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, for his failure to appear before the investigating officer in a rape and cheating case filed against him by Maitreya Gowda, an actor, in R T Nagar police station.  Additional City Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) court VIII issued the warrant after the police approached the court when Karthik failed to respond to summons twice. "A team has been formed to nab Karthik at the earliest. All airports, railway stations and bus stations across the state have been alerted to ensure he does not escape,” said a senior police officer. Meanwhile, the 36th City Civil Court heard the anticipatory bail plea of Karthik on Thursday and adjourned the hearing to Friday. The City police have filed their objections to the grant of anticipatory bail. Also, JC Nagar sub-division ACP Omkaraiah questioned D V Sadananda Gowda’s wife Daati at her residence for nearly three hours. The ACP asked her a series of questions regarding the nature of the relationship that existed between Maitreya and Karthik. Daati told the police that a conspiracy has been hatched against her family for personal agenda and to extort money. Source: Deccan Herald
