Bhatkal, 31 Jan 2011: In a bid to keep check on illegal Gas connections and frauds, the department of food, civil supplies and consumer affairs of the state government has issued a notice asking the public to provide details of their domestic electricity meter numbers to respective Gas Agencies. This notice applies to all 'Above Poverty Line' (APL) ration card holders.
Hence the department has asked the APL card-holders to submit a photocopy of the ration card with the meter number mentioned on it and a copy of a recent electricity bill attached, to their LPG distributors before February 10, 2011.
Those failing to provide this information will have their ration cards cancelled and their names will be handed over to the LPG distributors instructing them to cancel the LPG connection.
