Anjuman College celebrates Graduation Day for 2023-2024 batch

Bhatkal: Anjuman Arts, Science, and Commerce College in Bhatkal hosted its Graduation Day Ceremony for the academic year 2023-2024 on 22nd September 2024. The event, organized by the Student Welfare Wing, honored the achievements of graduating students and marked the culmination of their academic journey.
The ceremony began at 11:00 a.m., with students, parents, faculty, and esteemed guests present to celebrate the occasion. The event commenced with a recitation of Quranic verses by final-year BCom student, Mr. Hisham Kazia. This was followed by a welcome address from the event Chairman, Prof. Aftab GM, who praised the students for their hard work and perseverance, while also extending a warm welcome to the gathered guests.
The ceremony saw several distinguished figures on stage, including Chief Guest, Abdul Qadir Basha Ruknuuddin, former Senior Recruitment Officer with the Dubai Health Department. The event was presided over by Sadique Pilloor, Vice President 1 of Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen, with additional dignitaries including Ismail Jukaku, Additional General Secretary of Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen, Principal Prof. Mushtaque K Shaikh, and Vice Principal Prof. Hibban Shabandari.
Chief Guest, Abdul Qadir Basha Ruknuuddin, delivered an insightful address where he spoke about the need for continuous learning in a rapidly advancing technological world. Drawing from his decades of experience in Dubai, he stressed that graduates must keep upgrading their skills to stay relevant. "We have moved from typewriters to artificial intelligence," he said, urging students to adapt to the fast-changing landscape of technology and healthcare.
Highlighting his long-standing connection to Dubai, Basha spoke of the city's transformation, crediting the visionary leadership of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He also called for more focus on producing skilled professionals in medical technology in Bhatkal, pointing out the need for expertise in areas like nursing, radiology, and dental hygiene. He encouraged students to pursue diploma courses in healthcare, noting the critical shortage of trained technical staff in local hospitals.
In his presidential address, Sadique Pilloor emphasized the importance of discipline, ethics, and the values that the students had learned during their time at the college. He reminded graduates to stay connected to the institution and uphold the morals that shaped their academic journey.
The event also featured a prize distribution ceremony that recognized students for their excellence in academics, sports, and other extracurricular activities:
Mohiddin Asbah, who secured the 9th rank in BCom at Karnatak University, Dharwad, received a cash award of ₹10,000. Pooja Prakash Naik, who secured the 2nd rank in the BA stream, was also awarded ₹10,000 for her accomplishments.
Two students, Anzar Hussain (BCom) and Mavia Mohtisham (BA), jointly received the Best Outgoing Male Student award, with each being presented a cash prize of ₹5,000. Amruta S. Naik (BA) was named the Best Outgoing Female Student and also received ₹5,000.
Several students were awarded for achieving perfect scores in various subjects. Anzar Hussain received ₹5,000 for scoring full marks in five subjects, and others including Muizuddeen Dukandar and Mohammed Maan Ekkeri were recognized with cash prizes ranging from ₹1,000 to ₹5,000.
- Amruta S. Naik was awarded ₹1,000 for her contribution as the Best NSS Volunteer for the year 2023-2024.
- Mohtesham Maviya received a certificate for being the Best Scout Rover.
- Chaya Venkatraman Naik won the General Championship in Sports (Female Category), while the Male Championship was jointly awarded to Jasir Jamee and Syed Mubeen.
- At the postgraduate level, Shreyas and Jairam Jattappa Naik were honored for their sporting achievements.
The event came to a close with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. Manjunath Prabhu, who thanked the Chief Guest, dignitaries, faculty members, and students for making the event a success.
