Anant Kumar Hegde visits Bhatkal; schools officials of several departments

Bhatkal 1 July 2018: "I want development from the departments not just the reports" said the Union Minister Anant Kumar Hegde at the meeting in Taluk Panchayat office of Bhatkal. Anant Kumar Hegde on Saturday chaired the meeting at Taluk Panchayat office and schooled the officials of several departments while enquiring about the progress of developmental plans by the central government. Hegde's wrath came hard on the Minority commission's Bhatkal in-charge, who was sent out of the meeting hall by the minister by shouting 'get out' when the officer couldn't provide the asked information to the minister and said 'its just 15 days since I took the charge' which irked the union minister, who further warned other officers to come prepared with everything whenever he is chairing the meeting. Anant while addressing the meeting, said "there are lots of schemes sanctioned by the central government, but people don't know about those".  He then questioned about the basic information of the Taluk, to the officials of various department including the departments of child and women welfare, forest, revenue and also the social welfare departments. "Except Yellapur, free dialysis units have been set up across the Uttara Kannada district by the central government, and as a part of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana scheme, about 1,099 pregnant women of the Bhatkal Taluk were given Rs. 5000/- each" Hegde added while speaking about the accomplishments of Modi government in the region. He instructed department officials to make sure people avail all the facilities and services provided by the government as it it for the people that the government has been bringing in all the schemes. On this occasion Bhatkal MLA Sunil Naik, Taluk Panchayat administrator CT Naik and others were present along with Hegde during the meeting. (Bhatkallys News Bureau/ Fristen Dias)
