Bhatkal: Students of Anjuman Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Bhatkal, have secured first place at a national-level hackathon held in Mangaluru.

The achievement came at the PAETRIX x Hack Summit 2026, a 24-hour hackathon organised by P. A. College of Engineering on April 29 and 30, which saw participation from engineering colleges across the country.

A team of third-year Computer Science and Engineering students from AITM emerged as winners, securing the top prize of ₹40,000. The team comprised Mohammed Zaid, Abdul Rehaman, Mohammed Mustafa and Mohammed Hanzala.

The competition tested participants on technical skills, innovation and problem-solving abilities, with teams working continuously over 24 hours to develop solutions.

College officials said the achievement reflects the emphasis on practical learning and innovation at AITM, where students are encouraged to take part in technical competitions and real-world projects.
