After TMC elections, Jali Patan Panchayath Elections to be held on August 21; Tanzeem candidates announced

Bhatkal: 21 August 2024 (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Elections for the President and Vice President positions of Jali Patan Panchayat are set to take place on Wednesday. The state government has allocated the post of President to a general woman and the Vice President’s role to someone from the Backward Class A (BCA) category.

In a recent meeting of Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem, Afsha Qazia and Advocate Imran Lanka were nominated for these positions, respectively. Afsha, who was elected as a councilor with the support of Tanzeem, is set to contest for the President’s post. Similarly, Advocate Imran Lanka, also a councilor backed by Tanzeem, is the candidate for Vice President. 

The election results will reveal whether the Tanzeem-backed candidates will secure these roles, mirroring the success seen in the Bhatkal Town Municipal Council elections.

Earlier today, Muhiddin Altaf Kharuri, backed by Tanzeem, was elected unopposed as the Vice President of the Bhatkal Town Municipal Council. His election was confirmed in a process overseen by Election Officer and Bhatkal Tehsildar Nagaraj.
