HYDERABAD: Launching a no holds barred attack on Union human resources development minister Smriti Irani, Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday demanded that her name be added to the FIR lodged earlier against Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya, UoH vice-chancellor Appa Rao Podile, local BJP MLC N Ramachandra Rao and ABVP leaders Susheel Kumar and Krishna Chaitanya in the Rohith Vemula suicide case. "She should also immediately apologise to the entire nation for playing dirty caste politics and trying to water down the case of dalit scholar Rohith Vemula's death by issuing one false statement after another," Kejriwal said while addressing a massive gathering of students on the UoH premises. Demanding that the Centre urgently order 'a high-level judicial probe' into the case, he suggested that the phone records of Irani, Dattatreya and Appa Rao be closely examined as part of the investigation to ascertain just how many times they spoke with each other on the dalit scholars' issue.
