A great learning experience for Kohli

After a bitterly-fought series against Australia, in which he was the sole focus of the visiting team’s attention, Virat Kohli, on his return from a shoulder injury, said that the series was a great learning experience.
“I learnt a lot...as a captain, as an individual, as a person,” he said. “During the course of such a big series, you tend to go into a zone. Sometimes in hindsight you think ‘may be I could have done things differently’, handled myself differently.”
Asked if the IPL was in a way liberating for he might not be the only attention grabber, Kohli said, “What the cameras and the TV package, is not in my control. I wouldn’t say I will be disappointed if the attention is on me again because I am used to it by now. But I’ll definitely handle it better than I have in the past. By not necessarily taking everything onto me and by letting things go.
“The last few weeks have been irritating as far as going on to the field is concerned but a lot of time to introspect and understand what needs to be done going forward. It will make me stronger and I will know how to handle it better.”
