Woman found dead in well near Bhatkal

Bhatkal: A 44-year-old woman died after falling into a well at Uttarakoppa village near Golikumbri in Bhatkal taluk.

The deceased has been identified as Latha Vishnu Naik (44). According to sources, she had been undergoing treatment for mental health-related issues for the past few years.

Latha had reportedly left her house on Saturday and did not return, following which family members and villagers launched a search operation.

During the search, her body was found in a well in the village.

On receiving information, personnel from Murdeshwar Police Station visited the spot and conducted an inspection. The body was later shifted to a government hospital for post-mortem examination.

A case has been registered at the Murdeshwar Police Station, and further investigation is under way.
