Two bulls rescued in Bhatkal; case booked over alleged illegal transport for slaughter, one arrested

Bhatkal: Police have detected a case involving the alleged illegal transport of cattle and an attempt to move them for slaughter in the town.

 

According to police, Shiyam (42), a resident of Bunder Road 3rd Cross, along with others, was allegedly involved in transporting two bulls unlawfully.

 

The accused are said to have brought the animals in a vehicle to a vacant site near Bunder Road 6th Cross, where they were tied up. Police said preparations were being made to shift them elsewhere with the intention of slaughter.

 

Acting on credible information, police raided the spot, rescued the two bulls and took them into custody.

 

PSI Timmappa S. has lodged a complaint on behalf of the government, and a case has been registered against the accused under the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act.
