Karwar: A major technical error in the SSLC result of Sirsi student Leeza Khanam of Union High School has been rectified, bringing relief to the student and her family.

When the results were announced on Thursday, Leeza had been marked absent in the Social Science examination on her marks card. This had caused anxiety to the student and her parents, despite her having appeared for the examination.

Following the issue, the family immediately approached Sirsi MLA Bhimanna T. Naik and senior education department officials, seeking justice.

Taking the matter seriously, the MLA reportedly spoke directly over phone with School Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa and urged that the serious error in the marks card be corrected without delay.

After the intervention and the minister’s direction, the examination board verified the records and corrected the mistake within a day.

With the revised result now uploaded, Leeza has secured an excellent overall score of 96.48 per cent.

According to the corrected marks statement, she scored full marks of 100 in Kannada, 124 in Urdu, 92 in English, 98 in Economics, 92 in Political Science and 97 in Social Science.

Leeza Khanam and her parents have expressed gratitude for the quick action taken by the education department.

DDPI D.R. Naik and BEO Nagaraj Naik also appreciated the special interest shown by the MLA in safeguarding the student’s future.
