Dh10m in debts of 150 inmates settled

Abu Dhabi: Over Dh10 million in debts of 150 inmates were settled by the Al Faraj Fund last year, the Ministry of Interior announced today (Monday). Additionally, financial allocations to 192 inmates’ families were given in the same period.
Major General Dr Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Al Faraj Fund, stressed the importance of enhancing the spirit of cooperation and communication among the various social classes, which is one of the identified goals of the Fund.
Heading a meeting at the Abu Dhabi Police Headquarters, Maj Gen Al Nuaimi called on Fund officials to study additional investment projects to help develop the resources and support for the Fund. He also expressed his appreciation of the achievements of the Fund in 2014, which include increasing the number of campaigns, settling debts of inmates and successfully releasing inmates with the participation of a number of charitable parties, institutions, and beneficiaries that exemplify the duties of social responsibility.
