Case registered against 22 persons over alleged obstruction of police near Murin Katte in Bhatkal

Bhatkal, May 26: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Bhatkal City Police Station police have registered a case against 22 identified persons and several others for allegedly assembling unlawfully near Murin Katte in Bhatkal town and obstructing a police inspector while he was performing official duty.
According to the FIR, the incident took place near Murin Katte on National Highway-66 at around 8 pm on May 24.
The case was registered based on a complaint filed by Bhatkal City Police Inspector Diwakar P M.
Police said around 50 people had gathered near Murin Katte on the night of May 24. When Inspector Diwakar reached the spot, some persons allegedly argued with him and expressed anger over the issue.
In the complaint, the inspector alleged that he was pushed and obstructed while discharging official duties. He also stated that he sustained an injury to his leg during the incident.
The accused named in the FIR are Taimur Gawai, Suhail Kaddari, Nayeem Kashimji, Salam Chamundi, Abdul Anan, Basit Muallim, Zulkif Hassan Taha Ruknuddin, Arif Jabali, Abdul Aleem Jabali, Jammer, Marwan Ajaib, Naufil, Ayan Damudi, Nasir, Javed Mukri, Faiz Mazhar, Arsalan Motia, Sharim Hasim, Muntazeen, Salam, Ahmed Peshamam and Taman.
Police have booked the accused under Sections 189(2), 191(2), 132, 121(1), 351(2) and 190 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
Further investigation is underway.
