Bhatkal temple theft case cracked within 24 hours; accused arrested

Bhatkal: Bhatkal Rural Police have cracked the theft reported at Sri Bhantagoda Temple in Garadihitla of Belke village within 24 hours and arrested the accused. The stolen gold and silver ornaments and other valuables have also been recovered.
The theft had taken place on the night of September 29, when the lock of the temple's front door was broken and gold and silver ornaments were stolen. A case was subsequently registered at the Bhatkal Rural Police Station.
Police formed a special team to trace the accused. Based on evidence gathered during the investigation and information obtained from local residents, the team arrested Yunus Ahmed, a resident of Tahala Colony in Heble.
Police said the stolen items were recovered from the accused.
Yunus Ahmed was produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody.
