Bhatkal police arrest man in cheque bounce case

Bhatkal, 01 Oct: Bhatkal police have arrested Ravish Venkataramana Hegde of Sirsi in connection with a case involving non-repayment of borrowed money and produced him before a court.

According to the complaint, Hegde had borrowed money from Ishwar Honnappa Naik of Bhatkal and had issued a cheque towards repayment of the loan. However, the cheque was dishonoured when it was presented at the bank.

As the borrowed amount was not repaid despite instructions to do so, Ishwar Naik initiated legal proceedings. A warrant was subsequently issued by the court against Hegde in connection with the case.

Police said Hegde did not appear before the court despite the warrant. Following this, a team of Bhatkal police went to his residence in Sirsi, took him into custody and produced him before the court.
