Bhatkal: Fisherman’s body found a day after being swept away by giant wave

Bhatkal: The body of a fisherman who went missing after being swept into the sea by a giant wave while fishing with a hand net was found on the coast on October 22 morning.

The deceased was Suresh Naik, 35, a resident of Sannayyanahithlu in Hadin village.

The incident occurred between 5 pm and 6.45 pm on October 21, when Suresh was fishing with a hand net off beach. He was caught in a sudden, powerful wave and went missing in the sea.

His family members and local residents searched along the coastline. At around 6 am on October 22, his body was found on Hadin beach.

Based on a complaint filed by his brother, Vasudeva Naik, 50, Bhatkal Rural police registered a case of unnatural death. The complaint stated that there was no suspicion surrounding the death.
