AITM hosts VTU inter-collegiate football tournament for Mangaluru division

Bhatkal: Anjuman Institute of Technology and Management (AITM), Bhatkal, inaugurated the VTU Inter-Collegiate Mangaluru Division Football (Men) Tournament, scheduled to be held on April 16 and 17, with a formal function on the campus.

Principal Dr. K. Fazlur Rahman welcomed the gathering and spoke about the role of sports in the overall development of students.

Chief guest Maawiya Mohtisham, General Secretary of the Uttara Kannada District Football Association and founder of the Bhatkal Inter Football Association, addressed the participants and called upon them to maintain discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship during the tournament.

AITM Secretary Mohammed Ansar Damdaabu and Anjuman General Secretary Mohammed Ishaque Shabandri also spoke on the occasion, highlighting the institution’s focus on encouraging sports along with academics.

The General Secretary of Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen formally declared the tournament open.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Shrishail Bhat.

Registrar Prof. Zahid Kharuri, Physical Education Director Bhaskar Belegadde, heads of departments, faculty members and staff were present at the inaugural function.
