Zilla Aranya Bhoomi Hakku Horatagarara Vedike submits memorandum to Bhatkal ASP against forest officials

Bhatkal 16 October 2019: Zilla Aranya Bhoomi Hakku Horatagarara Vedike President Ravindra Naik along with several people on Tuesday registered a complaint against forest officials of Bhatkal Taluka at Bhatkal town police station for allegedly harassing and giving mental torture to encroached land holders. In the memorandum submitted to Bhatkal ASP Nikhil B, the organisation noted "Several people are residing in Forest land for years. They are paying house and water taxes too. They are provided with electricity supply as well. The GPS of the land has also been done, yet the forest officials keep harassing the encroached land holders even when the government has ordered not to pressurize people. The memorandum also urged the police department to take action against the forest officials who trespass and enter the land of people residing in encroached lands and destroy their properties allegedly to harass them.
