Young student dies after scooter collides with lorry in Bhatkal

Bhatkal: 15  october,2025(Bhatkallys  News bureau) An 18-year-old student lost his life in a tragic accident near Tenginagundi Cross on the National Highway late on Wednesday night.

The deceased was identified as Mohammed Mohtasham, son of Anees Mohtasham, a resident of Firdous Nagar, Bhatkal. He was pursuing his studies at Ali Public College, located in the same area.

According to police sources, a lorry carrying plywood sheets was travelling from Kerala towards Mumbai when a scooter entered the highway from Tenginagundi Cross and came under the truck. The impact was so severe that Muhtashim died instantly at the scene.

Local residents rushed to the spot soon after the mishap, and the Bhatkal Town Police shifted the body to the government hospital for post-mortem.

Police have registered a case.
