YMSA lifts 'Aaqeel Shanu Memorial Trophy' after high drama

Bhatkal - 04 May, 2010: YMSA defeated Lion in a 'Super Over' to clinch 'Aaqeel Shanu Memorial Trophy' which was played here at Kola Ground, Jali Road, Bhatkal. The match entered into a super over after final match was tied at the score of 128 runs.

In Super Over, Lion scored 15 runs including two massive sixes after put into bat first. In reply, YMSA with 3 runs needed from last ball, won the match with Noor Muniri hammering a huge six on the last ball.

Total 29 teams from Bhatkal taluka have participated in the tournament which lasted for 17 days. The winners YMSA received Trophy and a cash reward of Rs 15,000/- while the runner-up Lion went home with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 8,000/-. The players who received special recognition are as follows,

Best Batsman - Mohammed Zaheer (Sunshine)

Best Bowler - Mohammed Waseem Asarmatta (Lion)

Man of the Final - Faheem and Asghar

Man of the Tournament - Sibtain (YMSA)
