Yennepoya Mangalore defeats Bhatkal to win BIFA Trophy

Bhatkal – 25 Jan 2013: Yennepoya Mangalore defeated Bhatkal in the final of Bhatkal Inter-Football Association (BIFA) District Level Football Tournament which was played here at YMSA Ground, Bhatkal. The match was ended in a draw and the winner was decided after a penalty shoot-out in which Yennepoya Mangalore emerged victorious with 3 goals to 2. Total 16 teams participated in this tournament. Mavia Mohtesham of Bhatkal won Best Striker award. Bhatkal’s Akeef received Best Playmaker award while the Best Goal Keeper and Best Defender awards went to Yennepoya’s account. Kazba Brothers from Ullal won the third place. The winners received a cash reward of Rs 15015/- along with a trophy and the runners up got Rs 7,007/- and a trophy.
