Yellapur: Oil tanker rams into commercial complex; shop owners faces loss of over Rs 10 lac

Yellapur 18 Feb 2018: A oil tanker crashed into a commercial complex of Taluka Panchayat destroying  two shops of the building here on Saturday night.

The driver of the tanker moving towards Ankola from Hubli  crashed into the complex after loosing his consciousness in the influence of sleepiness moved across the lane and rammed into the complex.

Many street vendors had set their shops and used to sleep in front of the complex on Saturday night for the weekly market that falls on every Sunday. Luckily nobody slept outside the complex.

The driver was later taken to the hospital with some minor injuries, but the grocery store and the TV repair shop faced an estimated loss of Rs 10 lac due to the damages.

The police inspector Manjunath and his staff visited the spot and registered the case.
