Yellapur: Drunk man murders wife after a heated argument

Bhatkallys News Service/ Rizwan Gangavali Yellapur 12 August 2017: A drunken man under the influence of alcohol murdered his wife after an heated argument between the two. The accused has been identified as Shankar Unkal, an habitual drinker. The victim wife has been identified as Nirmala. Sources from the neighborhood claimed the husband and wife use to fight and argue almost every day when Shankar would return home drunk. The couple had settled in Kollapur village of Yellapur a year ago from their native place of Gulbarga. As per the sources, when the neighbors found the body of Nirmala lying at her home, they confronted Shankar who claimed that she had consumed sleeping pills and was asleep. Upon the suspicion the neighbors informed police who rushed to the spot and arrested Shankar who later confessed about the murder. The body was sent for post-mortem at Yellapu Taluka hospital.
