Yatra Genie begins cab service in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: Yatra Genie launched city taxi facility in Bengaluru with 100 government licensed radio cabs within the city and 50 for outstation travel. It will be partnering with cab operators to introduce 1000 cabs within the city and 500 taxis for out station travel in future. Yatra Genie is one of the leading online bus ticketing and cab booking platform in India. Renil Komitla, President and CEO, Yatra Genie said "The growing demand for city taxi and outstation taxi services in Bengaluru has prompted us to venture into this market. The taxi service market is projected to significantly grow in the coming years. Clearly the market is under served and there is still room for new players that can innovate and serve customers better, not just in metro cities but also in two tier cities. By the end of 2015, YatraGenie will set up operations in 65 cities and towns with an inventory of 25,000 cabs" Booking can be made on the website — www.yatragenie.com and also through android based mobile devices using the YatraGenie app or by simply calling the call centre at 080 20 20 20 20. The city taxi service will be charged at Rs 100 for first six kilometers and Rs 15 per extra kilometer.
