Bhatkal: Yasin Bhatkal, the alleged chief of the Indian Mujahideen, who was wanted in a string of terror attacks across the country has been arrested from Indo-Nepal border in north Bihar. According to sources, he has been arrested in a joint operation by RAW and IB.
The statement issued by Yasin's father, Zarar Siddibapa, says, "We are extremely relieved that Ahmed Siddibapa (Yasin Bhatkal) has been arrested, according to media reports. We are relieved because the truth will come out and our fears that he would be eliminated in a fake encounter have been set to rest."
He further added "We have complete faith in the judicial process. He should be punished if he is found guilty of any offence after the due process of law is followed. The cardinal principle is that every person is innocent until proven guilty should be followed."
Claiming that "lots of falsehoods" were being spread in the media about his son, Zarar Siddibapa said he wished to put the basic facts in the public domain.
As per the statement, Ahmed Siddibapa was born in 1983. He studied in Bhatkal from grade 1-10. "He had never set foot on Pune to our knowledge until he disappeared from Dubai. Ahmed left for Dubai in Nov 2005 and disappeared from Dubai in Jan 2007.", he added.
In the end, Zarrar Siddibapa has requested the media to allow a free and fair trial.
It may be noted that, Zarrar Siddibapa has no son named Yasin Bhatkal. In the press release too, the name "Yasin Bhatkal" has not been used.
After his arrest, Bhatkallys.com interviewed some noted personalities of Bhatkal. Everyone is of the opinion that they are relieved
after his arrest, as actual facts will now emerge and realities concerning other bomb blasts in the country will also become clear.
People of Bhatkal have requested the media not to associate the word "Bhatkal" with his name, rather they should use his surname as it defames the name of the village.
