Bhatkal 18 May 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) As soon as reports of Congress-JD(S) forming a coalition government surfaced on news channels, a flurry of social media messages shined light on Bhatkal JD(S) leader Inayatullah Shabandri and his chances of scoring a government position. The claims were further fuelled with pictures of Inayatullah seen alongside former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and probable Chief Minister candidate HD Kumaraswamy. Bhatkallys.com contacted Inayatullah himself and enquired about the latest developments of state politics and also questioned about the possibility of his chances of returning to political stardom yet again. Inayatullah who is currently in Bengaluru and closely following the developments said “Congress-JD(s) coalition is set to form the government after the historic decision. BJP was further battered when the Supreme Court refused to give them more time and also barred secret ballot in the floor test. They will not be able to prove the majority now.” “All the MLAs of both Congress and JD(S) are with us and nobody has fell for the horsetrading traps of BJP,” he added. About his role in the coalition government, he said, “Let the government be formed first and we will look into possibilities later. I am personally very positive that Kumaranna will give me a suitable post in the government, but right now I only want to see him as the CM of the state. Everything else can be looked into later”. Inayatullah also added that his decision to withdraw his name from election as he couldn’t secure the confidence from Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem, was lauded by ex-CM Siddaramaiah. He said “Siddaramaiahji told me he was personally keeping an eye on the coastal belt and he was aware about me withdrawing my name from elections. He was happy and proud about the decision”.
