Wife kills self after husband's death in Gokarna

Gokarna 15 July 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) A woman killed herself by jumping into a well after being distraught with grief over the death of her husband here at Agragona of the Taluka on Saturday, 14 July. The deceased Manjula Vernikar's husband Vittal Vernikar was suffering from a heart problem and was admitted in a private hospital of Bengaluru for the past 25 days and unfortunately he died at the hospital where he did not respond well to the treatment. As soon as the mortal remains of her husband arrived at Agragona, Manjula could not hold herself aback and jumped into the well, the locals tried to save Manjula but by the time she was taken out of the well she was dead. The couple had no kids and neitherr they had any close relative and according to the reports as Manjula lost her only support and companion she took the extreme step of killing herself. The body was later taken to Gokarna Government hospital for postmortem. A case has been registered at Gokarna police station. (Bhatkallys News Bureau/ Fristen Dias)
