Welfare Party Bhatkal demands reversal of power tariff hike

April 05, 2016 | Correspondent | Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: In a bid to demand reversal of power tariff hike that came into affect a week ago in the state, activists of Welfare Party of India (Bhatkal unit) today submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister of Karnataka at the Assistant Commissioner's office demanding reversal of power tariff hike. Many localities in the state are already reeling under hot climate and in these testing conditions increasing the tariff is like overburdening the public, the memorandum said. Demanding curb on illegal supply of electricity, the memorandum appealed to the CM to intervene and stop increase of power tariff. The memorandum also demanded stopping of frequent load shedding in the town. - ARF
