Welfare Hospital to organize free medical camp for cancer patients

welfare-hosp-1 Bhatkal – 11 Jan 2013: According to the recent research, deaths due to cancer are expected to rise 50-60% in 2030. Cancer, known medically as a malignant neoplasm, is a broad group of various diseases, all involving unregulated cell growth. In cancer, cells divide and grow uncontrollably, forming malignant tumors, and invade nearby parts of the body. The cancer may also spread to more distant parts of the body through the lymphatic system or bloodstream. Not all tumors are cancerous.  There are over 200 different known cancers that afflict humans. To create awareness among people about this killer disease, Welfare Hospital, Bhatkal in association with Mangalore Institute of Oncology is organizing a one day free medical camp on Sunday 13th January 2013 at Welfare Hospital, Bhatkal. This was announced by the director of Welfare Hospital, Mr Syed Hasan Barmawar at a press meet held today morning. Providing the details he said that specialist from Mangalore Institute of Oncology including Dr Jalaluddin Akbar, Dr Suresh Rao, Dr Krishna Prasad and others are visiting this camp and there will be a separate arrangement for ladies.
