Wear a mask or face action in Bhatkal; 36 fined for not wearing masks

Bhatkal, September 7, 2020: A sharp increase in Corona cases across Uttara Karnataka district has pushed government officials to swing into action and further implement preventive measures. With over 200 COVID-19 cases reported in the district, fines will now be imposed on people for not wearing masks. According to new directives issued by the Assistant Commissioner, police teams and municipal officers will be on the lookout for violators, imposing a fine of ₹100 for not wearing mask in public spaces. A total of 36 people have already been fined and compliance checks are underway on Bhatkal Main Road, Shamsuddin Circle, Nawayat Colony, Azad Nagar and Madina Colony. (Bhatkallys News Bureau)
