"We have been able to preserve the purest form of Kannada because of Yakshagana" says ‘Akhila Havyaka Mahasabha’ president Dr.Giridhar Kaje

Bhatkal 11 February 2019:(Bhatkallys News Bureau) “Yakshagana has played an important role in the history of our culture, it represents Kannada language, it’s an ambassador of Kannada literature, ‘Akhila Havyaka Mahasabha’ president Dr.Giridhar Kaje said during “Yakshagana Saptaha” organised by Shri Mahishasura Mardhini Yakshagana Prathistana (reg,) of Uttara Koppa in association with Purnachandra Yakshakala Mandali (reg.) here on Sunday.
Speaking as the chief guest of the event, he further emphasized “Today, it is because of Yakshaghana, we have been able to preserve the purest form of Kannada till date. The Yakshagana artists are the pride of Karnataka. The historical plays especially Ramayana and Mahabharatha gives life message to the people, based on which one can live a successful life”.
Another Guest of the event, owner of Shrikumar Travels, Venkataramana Hegde also addressed the event and added “We go through tremendous testing times, when we live to do something good in the society, it is a milestone for the Yakshaghana team for the organizing Yakshasghana program for five years now”.
Presiding the Yakshaghana event MLA Sunil Naik added, “I have been taking part in this event for the past five years. And I believe that I am fortunate enough to do so or last five years.
During the event, Chandrakala Yakshagana Mandali enacted the play of ‘Ratnavati Kalyana’ and amused the audience.
President of Lions club Nagraj Bhat, Uttara Kannada Journalist Association president Radhakrishna Bhat, Havyaka Nowkarara Sangha President Shambu Hegde and others were present during the event.
